A LIFETIME OF EXPERIENCE
Melinda will use her life’s experience to achieve fairness in the criminal justice system.
There is clearly much that can be done while serving as the District Attorney of this great County.
This Borough should be the center of equity and our system should reflect the great opportunities owed to our families. 48 percent of Queens’ population was born outside the United States. It is that diversity that gives us our strength. Whatever your ethnicity, background, immigration status or economic means; whether you are a third-generation Queens resident or someone who came here yesterday to provide your family a better life; whatever your gender identification or sexual orientation, Justice must ALWAYS look the same. All too often, it does not. As the District Attorney, Melinda will use her life’s experience to achieve fairness in the criminal justice system.
It is always the right time to fight for a more just society, but the moment we are living in now creates an unprecedented opportunity to achieve that goal like never before. A lifetime of experiences, both personal and professional, have prepared Melinda Katz to be the vehicle by which we can win this fight by making her Queens’ first-ever woman District Attorney. It’s time to truly make the DA a partner in justice for every community in our great Borough.
